The term "disruption" may sound somewhat negative. However, "digital disruption" can also evoke images of innovative startups that introduce fresh solutions, like Wolt's market-changing approach. Generally, digital disruption means the transformation of established practices due to digital technology adoption.
Although perhaps overused in business jargon, I believe digital disruption is more relevant than ever, especially post-pandemic. New customer engagement methods have shown unexpected efficiency gains, even when initially intended as temporary.
Why should leaders care about digital disruption?
Historically, innovative newcomers often displace established firms by introducing simpler, cheaper alternatives that reimagine traditional models. Larger companies sometimes overlook disruptive innovation, focusing on incremental improvements instead.
Organizational Learning as a Competitive Edge
Fast organizational learning drives innovation and enables adaptation. To implement disruptive changes, all levels must understand and support the benefits, fostering shared knowledge across the organization.
Culture eats Strategy for breakfast
A culture that encourages risk-taking and innovation is crucial. With the right culture, even an incomplete strategy can succeed, but the best strategy may fail without it.
I have extensive experience in different kinds of projects and programs. Feel free to contact us to discuss how I can assist your company!
